Webinar on "Early-career phase for young planning researchers"
AESOP and the Young Academics Network are happy to announce the upcoming short series of webinars! As our communities, institutions, and societies are currently undergoing unprecedented challenges, we would like to investigate some very exciting themes which are of interest to AESOP and YA Network.
We would like to invite you to our first webinar titled "Early-career phase for young planning researchers," featuring Prof. Alessandro Balducci (Politecnico di Milano, Italy), Dr. Beatrix Haselsberger (Ingenieurbüro für Mensch, Raum und Umwelt, Austria), and Dr. Christopher Maidment (University of Reading, UK), moderated by YA CT member Rozana Darwich (University Paris Sorbonne, Lebanese University).
You will hear firsthand academics and experts with different backgrounds and diversified experiences discussing what comes after a PhD and how to ensure a smooth transition. Tips, tricks, and advice will be at the heart of this discussion as it will be addressing the following key questions:
- What possibilities do early-career planning researchers have? How do we decide if we want to stay in academia?
- What differences exist between researching in academia and in the private sector?
- How is it perceived in academia when we go to practice and come back to academia? How do we ensure a smooth transition from academia to practice and vice versa?
The webinar will be held on Tuesday, September 29 at 14:00 CET. Registered participants will receive the link to the online event closer to the date. The AESOP YA webinar series is free of charge. Register here.
