General research interests

My research is driven by an attempt to examine how land and identity politics intersect in India's rapidly urbanizing landscape. My intent is to locate some much-needed ways of reimagining "planning" in India based on my research findings. My research interest stems from the obvious disconnect observable between the ideals of the field of planning - centred on enabling more livable, more peaceful, more sustainable communities - and planning 'as practiced' in India.
