I am a third year PhD Student within the Warwick Institute for the Science of Cities.
My research looks at urban planning for resilience in extreme environments. I focus on the role of urban planning in building resilience against extreme weather events.
As more cities face the negative impacts of climate change, there is a need for urban resilience to continue its shift from the research arena to the implementation stage.
Using a mixed qualitative methodological approach, my project investigates how ‘extreme’ cities differ in their approaches to the practical utilisation of urban planning as a tool to build urban resilience in the face of climate change and increasingly frequent extreme weather events.
