Lecturer staff at School of Architecture, Planning and Policy Development - Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia since 2012. Graduated from Master Program in Architecture -Urban Planning from Department of Architecture in Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Indonesia year 2009. Bachelor in Department of Architecture ITS year 2002.

General research interests

My field research area are between field of architecture,urban planning, and social theory. I go further research on people perception toward a heritage area. This is a current field research in heritage topic, focusing on human value.

PhD/Postdoctoral Research Title

Inhabitant Awareness in Conservation of Urban Heritage Area. Case study of the Darmo Heritage Settlement, Surabaya, Indonesia.

PhD Abstract

Economic pressure has a high tendency in turnover the building functions in the strategic areas of Surabaya. Old Historical Housing Settlements in Darmo, Diponegoro and Pandegilling area which located in the center of Surabaya City showed a tendency of this function change from residential into commercial use. The image are shifted from the old city area into a modern one. However, inhabitant as the owner and user is a key to maintain this old city area image. Community interest in preserving their historical building is a parameter of participation in conservation activities. The following research aims to find an awareness of inhabitants on their old settlements area.
