General research interests

I am generally interested in climate adaptation and how cities can cope with the increasing risks of flooding. In particular I focus on how to design strategies for policy and decision-makers to increase flood resilience in urban areas. This includes the question of how to integrate the policy fields of flood risk management, urban planning and disaster management. Additionally, it requires a translation of the resilience concept to one specific issue – flooding – and the urban context.
