Single person households and their housing preferences in the context of urban housing design.
The rapidly increasing number of the single person households challenges to reconsider the premises of urban housing design in a holistic manner. In reference to diversified lifestyles, we encounter requirements that are less controllable than we are used to. The growing materialistic opportunities and the objectives of sustainable development add yet another layer into somewhat chaotic situation. The scope of the study is limited to cover the level of home environment, which is identifiable as a community, covering private and commonly used areas.
