CURIOUSU, THE SUMMER SCHOOL FESTIVAL

This summer, the University of Twente will host its first annual summer school: CuriousU. Taking place in Enschede, the Netherlands, from 11 August until 18 August 2015, we will offer courses covering topics that combine high tech with a human touch.

Join our course on Smart Cities!

In this  Course, a multidisciplinary team of scholars illustrates the wide and multifaceted scope of the concept. We focus on smart city technology (Smart grids, Smart Design, geo-processing, infrastructure, system robustness), but also on the transformation stage (governance and regulation). In addition, we also focus on the implications of smart city realisation on particular sectors in society (energy, water, professional life, technology users). We show the many technological and sociologic dimensions of smartening cities, share state of the art insights from current scientific debates and challenge the participants of the course to apply their insights to one’s own city environment. The course offers the possibility to share insights through oral presentations and book contributions.

Win a free seat!

The fee is EUR 750,- for the whole week including breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee/tea and all the festival activities. You can win a free seat! Send your contact details to the course leader at maya.vandenberg@utwente.nl before July 1st.

We can’t wait for the inspiring summer to start and we look forward to hosting you at our campus!
