YA Best Paper prize / AESOP Annual Congress image

The YA Best Paper Prize is awarded annually as part of the AESOP Annual Congress. The prize is fully supported by the Journal of Urban Design and Planning and results in a cash prize as well as secured publication for the winner. Additionally, 2-3 outstanding papers from the submission pool will be considered for publication as runners up.  

 

Award Criteria:

The YA Best Paper Prize is awarded according to the following criteria:

-          Innovativeness of the research

-          Relevance to the congress theme

-          Clarity of research argument and

-          Overall scientific quality

 

The Prize:

The Best Paper Prize winner will receive

  1. 250 GBP in prize money
  2. Publication in the Journal of Urban Design and Planning
  3. Free access for 1 year to the Journal of Urban Design and Planning

2-3 runner up places will also be awarded from the final selection and will similarly receive 1 year of free access tot he Journal of Urban Design and Planning as well as be considered for publication.

Eligibility and Participation:

The YA best paper prize is open to all PhD and post-doc researchers who submit a full paper to the AESOP annual congress and who are registered members of the AESOP YA Network.

 

Interested participants in the YA Best Paper Prize must indicate their interest in being considered for the award by

a)                          Indicating the intention to partake in the award by adding the following line to the header of their full paper submission to the annual congress: *to be considered for the YA Best Paper Prize 2014, and

b)                         Sending an email directly to the YA Chair and ExCo representative Lauren Ugur (aesopya@gmail.com) with a confirmation of your intent to participate and a pdf version of the full paper submitted to the AESOP congress.

The deadline for indicating your intent to be considered for the YA Best Paper Prize to the YA Chair is May 30th 2014.
