UN-HABITAT call for Internships (2012)

The Policy Analysis Branch of UN-HABITAT is responsible for the preparation of the Global Report on Human Settlements (GRHS), a UN General Assembly mandated report published every two years which provides one of the most authoritative reviews of urban trends, conditions and policies
The Branch is looking to recruit interns for a period of 3 to 6 months in 2012. The interns will work at UN-HABITAT's headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.
The following is an overview of tasks that the interns will undertake. Most assignments are related to the preparation of the next issue of the Global Report on Human Settlements (2013) which is entitled Planning and Design for Urban Mobility.
Substantive review of the draft chapters of the GRHS 2013
Preparation of written inputs for the draft chapters of the GRHS 2013
Bibliographic review of the draft chapters of the GRHS 2013
Review of draft statistical data tables for the GRHS 2013
Supporting the organisation of expert group meetings Potential
Candidates should be enrolled in a degree programme in Urban Planning and/or Regional Planning, Geography, Architecture, Economics or other related Social Sciences, preferably at the post graduate level.
Past experience on urban development research and policy analysis, or relevant publications, would be highly desirable.
